AFOA Ontario Hosts 2025 Annual General Meeting and Elects New Board of Directors

WASAUKSING FIRST NATION – AFOA Ontario President Ivan Thompson has issued the following statement:  

"AFOA Ontario successfully hosted its 2025 Annual General Meeting (AGM) virtually today, bringing  together members from across the province to review the organization’s progress and elect a new  Board of Directors."

"Seven Directors were elected today to join the AFOA Ontario Board: Ivan Thompson, Leanne Hunter,  Spencer Brigham, Stanley Sabourin, Sherry Lickers, David Shawanda, Lily-Anne Mt Pleasant."

"The newly elected Board will guide AFOA Ontario’s strategic direction for the year ahead."

“We thank our members for their participation and continued support,” said AFOA Ontario President  Ivan Thompson. “AFOA Ontario remains committed to advancing Indigenous leadership and  strengthening capacity in finance, governance, human resources, and management.” 

"AFOA Ontario acknowledges Glenda Henderson, John Carter, Helen Bobiwash, Justin Penasse, and  Ismo Heikkila for their service as Board Directors. We thank Glenda Henderson and John Carter for  their past service as AFOA Ontario President."
