About AFOA Ontario

AFOA Ontario is the Ontario chapter of AFOA Canada (formerly the Aboriginal Financial Officers Association of Canada), supporting over 300 members across the province. We are dedicated to advancing Indigenous leadership and capacity in the fields of finance, governance, human resources, and management.

We serve First Nations professionals, leaders, and students by delivering workshops, training, and certification programs that meet the needs of Indigenous communities and organizations. Our nationally recognized certifications include:

  • Certified Aboriginal Financial Manager (CAFM)

  • Certified Indigenous Human Resources Professional (CIHRP)

  • Certified Indigenous Leader (CIL)

  • Certified Aboriginal Professional Administrator (CAPA)

  • Certified Emerging Indigenous Leader (CEIL) – a new designation focused on youth
